Frequently-Asked Questions
How does perspiration gland suction work?
Long-term improvement for sufferers from excessive perspiration can mostly be achieved
by suction of the perspiration glands in the armpit area.
We use tumescent anesthesia, which is a special type of local anesthesia.
This is a gentle and almost-pain free method. Since we do not use general
anesthesia, the risks of the operation are reduced to a minimum.
During the procedure, we use a substantial quantity of tumescent liquid
(containing local anesthetic, styptics and other ingredients), which is
injected into the subcutaneous fatty tissue. This not only causes a local
anesthetic effect but also softens the tissue. After about one hour, during
which this fluid is allowed to work in, the perspiration glands are carefully
withdrawn through a special vacuum drainage tube. At the end of the surgery,
a compress bandage is applied, and the patient can go home with a companion.
Please note: The cost of this treatment is about Euro 990, and it is usually not covered by insurance.
